Cleaning chaeto?

There is a considerable amount of cyano growing in the refugium to the point where it's turning the chaeto red. At this point, do I rinse the chaeto in some separate salt water or do i remove it altogether and replace with fresh chaeto?

IMO, I'd try to gently rinse it off in a separate bucket or something. Just be easy with it so as not to break it all apart.

I had the same problem awhile back and could not get rid of the cyano. I ended up trashing it all and cleaning the sump out entirely and starting over with new chaeto.

The cyano will run it's natural course, leave it alone and it will go away as fast as it started once the nutrients its feeding on are gone. You have to do nothing.,
