Cleaning gone wrong ?!!?!

Long story short I've had lil algae bloom
Diatoms and some hair

Anyways I was cleaning sand bed today some and figured id get a tooth brush and clean some crap off the rocks and around the frags I have

Well I have a purple monti and it had some algae on the tips so I lightly brushed the algae off
I am wondering can you brush off the flesh from the skeleton if you brush too hard ??

I am wondering cause it's time for bed for me so I did my checking my skimmer and topping off for the night and I shined my light in there and usually I can kinda see purple dots on the skeleton well this time I really didn't see anything so I am working Dering if I may have brushed the polyps off ?!? :/

Any info and maybe ways clean if algae does end up on some frags in the future would def help

The only time I had algae growing on an SPS is when it was dead. I have never seen algae growing over the live tissue.

It's not on the tissue more like on the tip
But check this morning and I guess I just stressed it out like crazy cause all looked good this morning
