Cleaning my new tank..... help!!

Ok so I just got a 34G Solana from a friend of mine. The problem with the tank is that he let water sit in it for about 9 months. No light, no circulation, it just sat there. Most of it evaporated out but there was still about 6" in the bottom. I can scrape the front and the sides no problem. I can get the bottom too. The problem I have is with the back. There was a sponge and a bunch of bio balls back there that he never took out. The back is pretty nasty. I obviously can't get my hands in there very good to clean it. A friend of mine suggested that I put vinegar in there and let it sit. Will that kill all of the nastiness in the back?

vinegar should loosen all the dirt. then you can wash it out/ vinegar is a great cleaner. you should wipe down the whole inside with it when you are cleaning it.

I would fill it up with a mixture of water and distilled white vinegar and run any pumps it has or anything that needs cleaning in it. Then you should be able to brush off any coralline or other junk with a toothbrush.
