I want to convert my old 9 gal tank to a FW tank. It's all emptied, however, it has green algae dried on the glass that I am having difficulty removing.
any ideas how I can 100% safely clean this tank out for freshwater use?
Hey creative, the best way I've found to remove algae from anything I want to clean is using white vinegar. I buy the 5 gallon jugs at BJs for $3.00. You can fill the tank half vinegar and half water and let it sit over night. It will all be gone the next day and most like you won't have to scrape anything.
I just cleaned a 90g tank that was completely covered on all surfaces. All I had to do was get it wet with a water hose and it scraped right off with a razor blade.
