Cleaning ph/temp. Probes

I have some calcium and Crusty build up on my ph and temp. Probes and was wondering what was the best way to clean this stuff off with ? Anything I can use to soak them in ? I know I will have to recalibrate the ph probe but needed to get them clean ?

Milwaukee has a special cleaning solution for their probes. Costs about 5 bucks. I have no idea what it is. I always wondered if I could use plain old vinegar.

Overnight soaking in vinegar is good, followed by recalibration of the pH probe.

vinegar always wins the calcium carbonate war. but if your a brand name kinda guy than red sea fish pharm ltd has a solution dip for them. its called electrode care or electro clean.it contains hydrochloric acid. i used pinpoints 4.0 and 10.0 ph solution to recalibrate mine.
