Cleaning Tank

I have a 90 I just bought with lots of coral buildup on the built in overflow. I have cleaned the inside on the tank with vinegar because I figured it was not to acidic and I could rinse it out enough to not bother anything, but the coral buildup on the overflow is heavy and the tank sat for 2 months in a garage. Would it be a problem to just leave the buildup or does it need to come off?

leaving it on is fine. if it bugs you saturate a towel with vinegar and lay it ver the buildup after a few hours it should be easier to get off
