cleaning used tank and skimmer

I just bought a used 50g tank and skimmer. What is the best way to clean and disinfect them? Both are filthy.

If there's excessive calcium buildup, you can use a mild vinegar and water mix to help dissolve some of the calcium. Otherwise I'd just hose it down with water and use my hand. If it's glass, you can take an abrasive cloth like brillo, and scrub away, but not if it's acrylic.
