cleanup crew

im new to the salt water area and is wondering about this clean up crew. i have heard they clean your tank, sand and glass what are they and how much do i need i have a 55 gal with 10 gal sump

Hello bryon,

Yeah a cleanup crew can help keep unwanted algae down as well as eat up detrius and mix up your sand bed. My favorites are Nassarius Snails and Cerith Snails. Hermit crabs are aways fun, but can fight each other or attack snails.

I think the starter kits are a bit overkill. In my 55gal I tried to keep around 10-15 snails and around 10 hermits. Start small and add as you like.
