Can I put some in clownfish breeding tanks? DO yout hink that cleaner shrimp would bother eggs? or maybe some snails? or some hermits? or whatever, what do yall think?
I have a snail in with my maroons and it doesn't seem to disturb them or anything. I would think a hermit would be ok also. For the most part I just siphon the bottom to keep it clean
Personally, its a bad idea.
Any critter that can potentially eat or damage the eggs is a concern and not worth it.
Your broostock tanks should be bare, w/ just a tile, clay pot or a rock or for the fish to lay eggs on.
Otherwise, your the cleanup crew, vaccum and water maintenance guy
thanks for the replys... i have been doing a lot of reading with some discrepancies.
Everyewhere it says to make the tanks natural. Wouldn't that mean to have sand in the tank? I also read what you are saying FMArini. We already set the tanks up with sand, a few tiles, and I large piece of LR. Each tank has a filter and they will be worked into a central fuge soon. To me it seems more natural to have sand.
Any advice what to do? what are the benifits to going BB?
