closed loop manifold

Greetings all,I am in the planning stage of a closed loop manifold system in my 125 reef.I have a RIO 2500 that I would like to use in my sump.My sump currently has a Mag 7 for a return to the main tank.At a 4ft head this is in the neighborhood of 500 gallons per hr. My overflow feed line to the sump is 1.25 inches. If I add the RIO to the sump I am looking at around 600 additional gallons per hour from the sump to the tank. This would be 1100 gallons per hour.the question is will my siphon overflow handle this much flow at 1.25 iches.would love to hear if anyone has ever tried or done such a thing, or any suggestions to make this work. many thanks MJG426

Actually, closed loop manifolds by definition refer to having a dedicated pump running directly in and out of the tank...purely for circulation. What you're talking about is just putting a perimeter manifold on your sump return pump. FWIW, running too much flow through your sump is more trouble than it's worth...noise, bubbles, etc.

Thanks for the links.Lots of good info.Hows about i just hide the RIO in the back corner behind some LR.Then I could just run the PVC up the back and around the perimeter that way. Thinking .75 PVC with swivel fittings(TEES) by the way anyone know where to buy the swivel TEES???
