Cloudy haze

:hmm3: Oh, so NEW at this! I just set up my 28 gal tank and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and kept on rinsing my sand. Then I added about 6 lbs of live rock and 10 lbs dry rock. Then I slowly but surely poured the RO water in last night. Now it s a big cloudy mess and a milky haze all over the glass. I realize the cloudy mess is a bit normal with the bacteria doing it's "thing" but how about the haze on the glass is this normal? I tried to sponge it off this morning but it's coming back!!! Oh, and in trying to clean it off a cloud if poofing out of the sand. Stupid questions, maybe. But it's the only way to learn. :)

Normal.. It will go away with time.. (can take a few days or a good week or more depending on how bad it is)

I did this same thing. My aquarium took 4 days to become fully clear. Just be patient and make sure you don't have any powerheads pointed towards the sand bed.

Uhhh...the answer is 'yes.' How bad is it? :/
I think he's referring to it should've been RO "saltwater". Not just plain RO water. The correct way is to mix your salt and water in a separate container (I used a new/clean rubbermaid garbage can) before adding it to your aquarium. You don't want to mix it in the aquarium...especially once you have livestock.
