Hi everyone,
So I have an SCAquariums 50 gallon cube that I've been starting to add fish and corals to the last two weeks after several months of sitting with just live sand and rock. I added a biopellet reactor two weeks ago, and I added a single BRS reactor with carbon three days ago. Water had been clear prior to adding the carbon reactor. I rinsed the carbon inside the inner reactor container and thought it looked like it was running clear. However, since adding the reactor, my water has gotten noticeably cloudy for the past 48 hours.
I added a filter sock on the drain 24 hours ago and still no improvement. I thought it might be microbubbles from the SCA protein skimmer that came with the setup, so I inserted a filter block between the baffles to catch any bubbles, and no luck with that approach either. I thought the carbon should make the water clearer if anything, but I haven't seen any signs of improvement.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to what might be going on since the carbon addition?
