Cloudy Water Wow

I have a 28 Nano Reef (JBJ) that I recently set up adding 40 pounds of live sand and man its a cloud pit! It is so smokey looking that its unreal. I keep waiting thinking it will settle to the bottom but you could cut it with a knife. You guys have any suggestions how I could speed this process up? I have added clarity and the little pouches of liquid that comes in the live sand bags that is meant to clear the water but no change at all. It is driving me nuts to be honest. I have to do a water change so early on but I am wondering if I should to try to get some of of that gunk out of there. The tank has only been set up a week but still..... Your thoughts?

It's only been a week there is no rush waiting for it to settle while cycling you still have lots of time. There is no livestock or anything at this point so you would just be looking at an empty tank anyways. Worry about it after; do a water change and use some sort of filter like HOB, canister or put a filter sock into the sump, adding carbon would help to clear too.

As soon as you get the benefical bacteria going, via your cycle, all the particles will start to clump together and drop. Your sand wont blow around very much and your water will clear up. Sometimes that only takes a day or two, but sometimes I may take between 1-2 weeks.

I know it can be annoying but you have to sit back, relax and wait for it to happen. Nothing good in the hobby comes fast. Just saying
