Clown and Queen triggers

Are these fish reefsafe? And if so, are they compatible with other fish? Such as tangs and clowns.

Not reefsafe, VERY aggressive or will be peaceful for a while. Then they kill your fish...
Also a 140 isn't large enough for either of them.

Yes you can. Are you specifically looking for a reef safe trigger? If so there are plenty of them out there. Regardless of wanting reef safe or not, stay away from the undulated trigger at all costs.

triggers in the Xanthichthys genus tend to be more reef safe, with my personal favorite being the blue jaw trigger. Try one of them out if you want one thats more reef safe.

Im looking for some that are reefsafe and also not agressive so they can be paired with tangs and maybe clowns.

How big is your tank? If it's large enough, the Xanthichthys triggers are usually great citizens (there are some that will become terrors, but that's the exception rather than the rule).

The three that come to mind are the blue jaw, red tail, and crosshatch. The blue jaw is pretty reasonably priced. They get 10 inches I believe, so in a 140 may need to be re-homed or an upgrade in the works after a while. purchase a 4-5 inch fish and he would be good for some time. I'm yet to see any blue jaws in the LFS that are smaller than that though.

Thank you mate. Ill google those three. Such a shame the beautiful clown trigger is such a nasty fish.

I think you're perfectly fine putting a reef safe trigger in a 140g tank. I have a 150 and have some in mine.

Can you provide a little more detail on how many you have and what size they are? I have a 150 and would like to consider just 1 red tail or blue throat.

At what size would they become too small for a 150?
