So after a year and a half my pair of clowns just laid their first batch of eggs!
I am NOT able to breed clowns so I know they are doomed but I am so excited to see the eggs.:spin1:
And hey good fish food for the other fish.
Question - is them breeding just luck or a sign of a healthy tank?
Overall my tank suffers from benign neglect but the fish are all healthy, the corals have survived and the algae doesn't bother me and while I dont test water parameters routinely when I do they always seem fine....honestly my maintenance routine is just:
1) Feed every day plus reef chili once a week
2) NO auto-top off so manually add a gallon every other day (sometimes I forget until the sump gets low and starts to gurgle)
3) ~ 10% Water change (3 buckets worth) once a month (sometime less)
4) filter sock exchange/ empty the skimmer when nasty
I worry the tank is in trouble sometimes but breeding clowns is a good sign yes?
