Hi Guys iam from the uk i need some clarification on what to do with a suspect brook in my system

I currently have about 5 Tanks all connected to one sump

I have just have added 2 clarki clowns to the tank and one of them has died look to me like brook, as in the fish was breathing heavy at the top of the tank and also the skin was peeling slightly.

I did not have time to get the formalin to do a dip

But the problem is not that there are around 20 more fish in different tanks and other clowns

Will i need to dip all the fish in a formalin bath or do i put in into my system and would this affect the nitrification bacteria

Thanks

You can not use formalin in a main tank. At best it can only be used in a hospital tank but preferably as a dip. All fish have been exposed to this parasite therefore all should be treated. Although clowns are more susceptible to brook all fish can contract it and some, such as mandarin dragonets, are more resistant...but not immune.
Did you QT the clown?

No i didnt Qt it first
If i dip all my fish can they go back into the system or not or will i have to leave the system empty for a certain time
Thanks

Personally, if the other fish seem fine I'd wait it out at this point. Keep a very close eye on the other fish. IME brook mainly hangs on clownfish, although not always.

My flame angel got it from a newly acquired and unquarantined sea urchin. Guess what everything wet gets QTd for at least 8 weeks.
