clown help

Ok, this was the second time this happened in a year with two differant tanks. I introduced a clownfish and withing 6 hours he was floating on his side at the surface. I fished him out and moved him to the tank he came from. Seems fine now but time will tell. Last time this happened I didn't have another tank and a clownfish died.

Params are better in the fishless tank than in the old tank he came from.

Could there be too much flow and he wore him out. He went from a biocube with little flow to my 75 gallon bare botton reef with huge flow?

New take is 3 months old, just added a little piece of new to me live rock but no detectable Ammonia and very little nitrate. temp is fine and so is salanity.

Here is the funny thing the last clown that died was put into the little tank that this clown came out of.

Any ideas? I have thriving LPS and easy SPS, tons of snails, shrimp and crabs in the Reef, but the fish was obviously in distress or was it. Could it just be getting used to the tank? I doubt it but the fish did act a little goofy when i first moved him into the bio cube, but i treated with some prime and he ended up living. I even treated the reef with some prime to make sure his transition was ok.

Did you acclimate him before you stuck him in you 75 gal? If not I would drip acclimate him next time you try. If you dont have anything to acclimate in then go out to the store and pick up a Styrofoam IceChest should be some where in the $1-$3 mark. You will also need a piece of airline tubing. Take some water out of the tank he is in and put it in the ice chest with the fish. Then drip water into that from your 75 gal. Make sure the flow isnt to fast. Do this for half an hour, empty out some of the water and keep dripping for about another 20 mins then he should be ok to put in the 75 gal.
