My saddle back clowns hosted a long tentacle plate coral. The clown keeps getting stung. I can see the marks. Will it get used to it or will it die?

Thanks

Never seen a clown host with a plate, very interesting. I would think that in time, the clown will build up a resistance to the stings and will be fine. Usually clowns do that same thing with torches and nems, slowly building a protective slime coat to the stings.

I have a false perc hosting my long tentacle plate. Plate doesn't mind and the clown is fine. Before I added the plate the same clown hosted my hammer. Before the hammer he hosted an open brain. Funny thing is he hosted all three without a problem but she would not go anywhere near any of them.

They're supposed to build up a protective film around them after a few days. That's why when introducing a new anemone the clown might take a couple of days to adjust. Sometimes they don't need to and can just jump right in.
