Clown Tang in a Reef tank?

It shouldn't be an issue for corals. The big problems with them are health (many are not very hardy) and territoriality; they can really beat on any other fish in your tank, especially other laterally compressed fishes.

Only other fish will be damsels/Chromis and a Dragon Moray. I would guess they would be safe. Might QT a smaller one and try my luck.

One of my favorite fish next to Clown Triggers and Queen Angels. But I KNOW they won't work in a reef.

I would caution against getting a clown tang, even if your tank is huge. That said, they don't like being confined to QT and the smaller ones tend to have the worst rates of survival.

My QT tank is 75g and display tank is an 8' 240g.

If its going to survive that would be the best way to go about maybe u can get the same fish food as the place your getting him.until he settles down in yor tank

OK but if you do get a clown tang and not the hardier sohal, try to get one that is eating and be sure to have A LOT of flow in the tank. Also, make sure your water quality is top notch. Morays can be messy eaters.

Have plenty of flow. More the better. Even if you think the flow is too much for the corals point it towards the top to give the fish flow and more oxygen since it is flowing at the top
