Clown Trigger with fin fot?

So I went to check my buddies tank yesterday and found that his Clown Trigger wasn't looking too well. His dorsal fin seems to have some fin rot and I can't figure out whether he also has ich or if he looks a little stressed due to the fin rot. He's in my quarantine now. What do you guys think? Should I go copper o hypo?

What makes you think it has ich? Is thier a history of ich in the previous tank? I don't see it in the pics. I am in a small group that uses copper on all new fish, but don't suggest it for a single fish----unless you have some copper experience. I think tank-transfer is a great way to cure ich when just a single fish is involved. There is a sticky at the top of the disease forum. Hypo works for a lot of folks, doesn't seem to for others; it is very demanding. If you don't see ich and can't do TT; I'd just observe for about 6 weeks while you treat the fin-rot with an antibiotic. BTW; IMO, LR in a QT is a bad idea. it can absorb meds and really screw up med dosing. PVC pieces are great; cheap, easy to sterilize, and fish don't know the difference.

Yeah I think I may be overreacting a bit with the ich idea. During the transfer yesterday all we had was a small bucket and while he was in there I noticed some like whitish powder. Now though, what I see are like faded blotches. Maybe in the second picture behind the mouth you can notice it a bit. The rock I will take out asap. When it comes to some antibiotic, is there anything rather simple like methylene blue or something of that sort that would work. My issue with meds is that here in Peru, fish shops are crap and don't bring medications. I've also tried to understand how to dilute formaldehyde. I think it is just a 37% solution right? Would that work for the fin rot?

here is a picture of him during the night when he is hidden between the rock (I'll take it out tomorrow when I get some PVC pipe). There are some visible spots on him but I do not know whether that is ich or not.

So I need some kind of antibiotic for the fin rot. Is there any over the counter stuff, maybe like erythromycin that I could buy at the farmacy?? Like I stated, here in Peru the fish shops are crap and dont really have meds. So I prefer to use something I can get a a local farmacy.
