Hey guys,

Got a small clown trigger around a month ago. he is doing great, swimming around and always eat. recently i noticed he was more spotty than usual. i mean that i could see small white spots on his (not the one in his pattern but mich smaller ones). some on his face. any chance this is ich? again, he is acting perfectly healthy and eating everyday. i feed him mysis, brine, krill.

anything i should test or do? anyone else's clown trigger get small white spots?

i havent qt yet mainly because he is swimming around healthy and eating plenty everyday. i will post some pics later today. thanks

really need a qt...any new livestock should be placed in a qt tank for 4-6 weeks...imo...

IMO, the most important rule in successful fishkeeping. Everyone knows this, its just a matter of when they learn it.

To the OP: If you can post a pic, please do. If not, google saltwater ich, including images, and make your best guess. Small, salt-like spots are usually ich and his behavior can still be normal for a while.

If not ich, it could certainly be some other infection. As Tusk noted, they can act normal for a while before they crash. Better to treat before you get to that point.

Also, what you'd be doing now would be a hospital tank, not a true QT. For a QT, you'd keep them in that before putting them into the display, to prevent adding disease to your main tank.

As an aside from all this, I hope you have a very large tank to keep that fish long term.
