Clownfish and Brooklynella

This past weekend I picked up a young pair of wild caught Onyx Percula. I know that wild caught clownish are susceptible to having Brooklynella. I have them in a hospital tank and have been treating with a product that has Cupramine. With that said, with no signs of Brook, how long should i keep them in the hospital tank?How long should i treat them?

Copper doesn't cure brooklynella. It will prevent ich or velvet, so you may as well run the treatment course. I'd treat 3 weeks min. with Cupramine and another 3 weeks after removing it. A minimum of 6 weeks in QT. Assuming you see no signs of brooklynella, Formalin is the only cure I know of for brook. With all the new info on ich life-cycles; the longer in QT, the better.

I made a mistake its got Formalin not Cupramine....

I have formalin, 37% by volume... And dont plant on using it right now, but for future purposes, does anyone have directions on how to administer it.. I purchased my formalin from a science supply store and so no direction on bottle.. Most of the procedures I read online say follow direction on bottle and so im a little screwed here if I need to use it.

You can follow these directions since all Formalin MS is, is 37% Formaldehyde.

That said, I used AP QuICK cure which is Formalin + Malachite Green. It had a dosing rate of 1 drop per gallon for 3 days and then a 25% water change and add carbon.

I did this twice over three weeks and my surviving clown and the other fish subjected to brooklynella via my DT are all looking well.
