It seems like my pair is very finicky. All they eat is pellets. When i feed them frozen they pick at it. The just take it and spit it out and rarely eat it. Is pellets a sufficient diet to breed. I don't get why they r so picky? Should i try garlic? Pls help

Luckily my two clowns have just started to eat ... there going for the hikari small pellets .. it took a few days but there going for it now.

I tried frozen brine which they barely touched and frozen mysis which they just spit back out.

I'm just relieved there eating something finally.

I would try a really good feed like LRS Fish Frenzy which has black works, roe, etc etc and should be very appealing to your fish. Some refer to it as fish crack! It is high in protein, nutrients etc.

If they will only eat pellets I would do a well rounded pellet diet. Golden Pearls makes a good pellet feed, kens fish store has a good home made pellet, new life spectrum has great food, and APBreed TDO. Mixing it up offers a good opportunity of different a nutrients and making your clowns look stunning and happy!

thats the problem with tank raised fish .breeders feed them only pellets .start with newly hatched brine shrimp and frozen brine , r.o.e. from reeds and nutramar are good choices as well as those mentioned above.

First time I'm hearing of clowns being finicky eaters, I have clowns and they eat anything, hopefully I don't have problems with black and white clowns I am thinking of getting in the future...I've heard garlic worked for people. It did not work for me because I tried with my Cardinal fish when I tried feeding it pellet food. Well anyway, best of luck

Now they are spawning an more acclimated they will pretty much eat anything frozen. Formula one, lrs fish frenzy, mysis, cyclops, reef plankton. They eat it!
