This is my second batch eggs and I let my first batch go. First batch hatched on the 8th night and was wondering if it will be the same? I have everything ready and I just don't want them to hatch tonight because i am going to take the rock out and place it in my other tank. My question is if i go ahead and take the rock out and place it in the fry tank and they don't end up hatching tonight will the eggs be alright if they sit in the fry tank all day tmrw? I just don't want to miss this hatch cause i have everything ready

It is likely they will hatch again on the 8th day. If you do put them in the fry tank, make sure they have a bubbler going over the eggs. If they dont hatch tonight they will be fine in the fry tank for another night.

I am in the same spot. Removed eggs earlier today and put in fry tank. Tried this before but they went bad on me. Not sure if had enough flow. Temp, salinity and ph same as parents tank. Turned flow down and fry tank covered with a towel, blackout condition. This was at 830 pm. Will wait til 915pm to check. Question is should I have turned down the flow or left it where it was at? Did The turkey baster removal and light before and it worked, but this time I have eggs on a terra cotta dish for easy removal.

I think I'm just gonna ride it out and let them stay in display tonight and hopefully they won't hatch till tmrw night! Let me know

Yup

Yup

Did a peek and have fry. Waiting a little while longer to check again to make sure all have hatched. To hunter had air higher than before trying this, and it worked. My pair laid eggs last Thursday and are hatching now. Now the fun begins cause I do have rotifers but have had problems keeping alive.
Also good luck Hunter. I am suprised they are hatching on the 7Th night but tank is at 82F degrees.

Mine laid eggs Friday and tmrw night will be the 8th! They hatched on the 8th day last time but I'm glad yours is working out! How long does it usually last before the lights go out for them to hatch?

I darkened everything out and it was like 50 minutes when i peeked. also turned off flow in that time. But checked and about half had hatched, so I turned flow up alittle for awhile and just turned it off. will wait to see what happens. room still dark but I do not know if left over will survive another day because of the fry I have in there. I want the flow some what low so they are not blown all over their tank. This is my second batch also and was not even expecting a hatch, but there are some. People say to let the few first batches to go so you get a bigger spawn and healthier eggs, but it was to damn hard. I will settle for half a batch just out of curiosity. Do not have a second rearing tank at this time.

Out of the batch counted 6 as of now. Do not know if want to raise or let them go. With 6 my odds are not good. Was thinking about raising the 3rd or 4th batch to begin with. When fry hatched there were alot but most were doing the spiral swim to begin with and then sinking to bottom. I might have had to much flow, or just not that healthy when hatched. Also got rotifers from a fellow hobbyist this past Monday so only had 3 days to get culture up and multiplying. Been feeding parents flake food, Spectrum pellets and frozen food that I made out of shrimp, scallops, with flake food. It is nothing spectacular but parents eat it. My light over fry tank is a little led diffused with paper towels so i think my light is not that bright.
I know I will have another chance. Learning as I go at this again.
