Clownfish mating question

alot of clowns like to push around sandbed (maroons in particular). i dont think it has anything to do with preparation to mating but then again im not an expert on their behaviors. hope someone more knowledgable chimes in,

Mine have the same sort of indentation dug out of the sand on the corner, but if they lay eggs then will do it on a hard surface. The indentation is just one of the silly things clowns do, it doesn't mean they are going to lay eggs.

I'm not interested in nems, so I'll never have one. My clowns have laid eggs without one and I would caution anyone against getting one without doing through research into they care and problems they cause.
