clownfish question

Juvenlie chrysopterus are almost as variable as clarkis in their patterns/colors. You almost have to look more at the head and body shape for ID. I am sorry I can't describe the difference for you. It is just something I have to see.

What if these two clowns I just got aren't both Amphiprion chrysopterus will they fight to the death? Right now they are acclimating. Both very healthy but one doesn't look like the other. I don't want to put the smaller one in danger.

My hubby thinks if I add them at the same time they might be ok. Even if they aren't the same species. Help :(

Kim, yeah still no call from Mark yet I'm about to call them back.

I tend to think the same thing... but what do I know?! Could you test it by putting them in the same acclimation bucket or something first?

I would think you would be ok to add to juvi's at the same time - even if there's a chance they're not the same species...

I would call them back!

Oh I haven't put the ocellaris in the 29 yet. Its going to be used as a QT for the blue stripes for a couple of weeks. Then after a couple weeks with them eating well and no sign of any problems. I'll take the Ocellaris out of the 120 and put the blue stripes in there. That is if they are both blue stripes..I hope they are.

Good plan!!! Sounds perfect...

Have you heard anything yet? What's your plan?

Couldn't you sneak a few flash pictures in? Maybe that wouldn't stress them?

I have QTed different species of clowns together before. Like your husband said, if you put them in together you shouldn't have a problem. If, in the next couple weeks, the larger one starts to establish a territory, you may have some problems, but you run that risk even when they are the same species.
