Clownfish questions

I currently have a pair of ocellaris clowns and I think I'd like to also get a pair of saddlebacks. They're in a 90 gallon, but I'm in the process of upgrading to a 210. Will the saddlebacks be able to attain their in nature size of 5" in the 210 or will the clowns kill each other?

In a 210 you will probably be able to keep both. I've seen some in tanks that size that won't accept any other clownfishes, but that's more an issue with maroons. If they don't get along, my money would be on the saddlebacks killing the ocellaris.

IMO, 50/50 at best. Juvi clowns get along well, mated pairs are very territorial. I haven't kept any ocellaris in years; but have had a few pairs of SBs that wouldn't allow any other clown in the tank. Tanks were 240 or 180.

Don't like those odds, and everything else I've read. I think I'm going to pass.

Good idea. Many years ago, before I knew anything about clowns, QT, etc; I had a female maroon kill another clown while it was still floating in the LFS bag. I've had smaller species of clowns that were almost as territorial. (As opposed to aggressive.) But like Wolverine said; sometimes it works. I tend to listen to Wolverine. My Grandfather was a Mich. Wolverine and was the smartest (and most decent) man I've ever met.
