Clownfish spot

I've had my Oscellaris clown for a little more than 6 mos. He has always been very active and eats a lot. I haven't noticed any change in his behavior, but yesterday I noticed a new black spot on his right side below his dorsal fin. It's about the size of a pencil dot.

I won't be able to post a pic until tomorrow, but does this sound like normal clownfish behavior? Do they get new spots?

They can get pigmantation spots which are dark and of no real concern. These are just skin discoloration. Is the spot on yours raised

They can also sometimes get these little black spots that are just "stings" from the fish bumping a coral, or trying/starting to host certain corals.

The spot isn't raised. I do have a plate coral. Would he be trying to host in that?
