Not if it is healthy and not too small. If the coral was tiny, it was a huge clown and the coral wasn't in good shape than it is possible.
 
many soft corals can handle a clown just fine; a lot of stony corals on the other hand can be seriously irritated (goniopora, bubble coral, sometimes euphyllia, etc)

Any anemone can damage your coral if it gets too close. Assuming your tank is set up properly to house an anemone, Bubble Tips tend to wander less than many others once they are established.
 
yep i have 2 roses with no probs, although a newbuy frog gave the Nem a sting till i moved it
 
Not to thread jack, but my clown does not go near my coral at all, it just swims around the glass. Do any of you know why? He seems healthy and eats quite a bit.
