Ok my tank is cycled. Diatoms gone. Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. pH 8.3 phosphates .02 temp 78 and no higher than 80. On saturday afternoon I put one small clown in and he seems to be doing great. Hes eating well swimming like crazy though. I dont know if i have to much flow?? two 1200 maxi and one 400 and rio 1100 return pump. If everything goes well this week, should I add another fish? I would like to add a yellow tang (small or medium) or possibly a powder brown tang that my LFS has for sale. I am also planning to make this a reef tank. Theres only LR and sand right now and a cleanup crew. What do you guys/gals think? Any tips or suggestions? Should I add an annemone for my clown? Should I wait another week? What do yall think??????

Tangs are big fish; they need room to move around. Yellow tangs are smaller but if I had the choose between tangs or something else - I would do something else. I would just leave the clown fish for a while but when you do purchase fish, I would make sure it will be capable with other fish you may purchase and capable with the coral you purchase. Besides, I would place all fish in a QT for about 4 week before placing them in the display tank.

Yes, this will make sure you do not have anything attached and make the other fish sick. Check out the threads for QT, good info. I use 10 or 20 g tank with heater, small light, one power head with foam filter. foam filter came from the main display tank, when I am ready to place a fish in the QT, i would get the foam out, 10 to 20g water, and put all together. also, use one PVC so fish can hide.

Sorry Meyeronfire. I am at work and we have an call that requires me to leave. Cannot find the thread you need. I would do a search or started a new thread for Quarantine tank.
