clowns in trio?

Hi my LFS has 3 true percs with really nice patterns and i want to get all three. Do clowns do well in trios? or should i only stick with a pair. they are all together in the same tank at the LFS?

Since they are probably tank raised, it might not make too much of a difference if you get all three. But I would imagine two would pair up, one would become the female, and then the third wheel might be chased away by the mated pair.

In other words I'd just get a pair.
