So, just to put it out there, what are some of the key benefits of being a WTMRAC member? If a 911 emergency arises (ex. power failure), who can I call to get help?

There's no emergency list of people to call, but many of our members frequent this forum and would no doubt be glad to help in a pinch. Without this club, there would be no annual frag swap, that's our biggest event. We have meetings and parties throughout the year, and these often involve meeting at a member's home, checking out their tank, critters and hardware... having a meal with fellow reefers there and listening to/discussing a particular reef topic. We have an annual New Year's Party with free pizza and lots of door prizes. Recently we traveled to Jackson MS to join up with the Jackson Area Reef Cl;ub to tour a new reef system at Union University. We have several sponsors who are generous in their dealings with club members. Some provide special group buys or sales to members; some offer a discount on all purchases, all of the sponsors are generous with door prizes and raffle prizes for special events. So I would say a major part of being in the club is having opportunities to get together with people of a common interest to learn more about the hobby. But, as any good endeavor, the success of the club as a social institution and as a benefit to all its members is nothing without the involvement of its individual members!

Sorry, I was in a dark, confined space with blood on my hands and a mask on my face when I typed that!
