ok I'm not what you consider to be computer savvy (anymore) I just got a AC3 pro and I'm trying to connect to it via my computers LAN connection. ( I have a mac) what I did was plug in the Ethernet to the AC3 typed in the 192.168.1.50 in to my browser and got nada. I am really confused here any help would be appreciated.

You'll need to configure the AquaController's network settings to match those of your network. This link shows how to get the network address, and netmask of your PC or Mac:

Most likely you want to change the AquaController's IP address in setup->net setup->IP address) so that the first 3 numbers are the same as your PC's. The last number should be unique. For example if your Mac's IP address is 192.168.3.10, then you'll need to set the AquaController's IP address to something like this: 192.168.3.50. The netmask is likely 255.255.255.0, so the default AquaController setting is OK.
After configuring the network settings in the AquaController, reboot or power cycle. Then you should be able to enter the controller's IP address into your browser to access it. In the above example that would be 192.168.3.50.
