Clumpy salt

I have a bucket of IO that turned out to be missing the rubber seal when I bought it. It sat in the garage for a few months before I needed it and now it is basically a solid block of salt lick.

Any tips on breaking up the salt? I am chipping at it with a table knife right now, but it takes forever.

I had that happen to a bag of IO, and imo it was not usable. I broke it all up best i could, however there were many pieces that would not dissolve, no matter how hard i tried to get it to.

I had another brand of salt clump up like that so Iput it in a thick plastic bag and broke it up really well. I was able to use it with no ill effects and all of it dissolved.

What I did was to use something like a cup or a bowl, hold it by the bottom and use the opening end to grind or scrap the sand block. Or you can take two bricks of it and grind them with each other. What I like about those 2 method is that they would completely breakdown the salt without any lumps.
