I am interested in buying a new heater. I was thinking of a cobalt neo-therm but I heard that there is a chance it could blow up. Is it safe to buy now?
Have two, they're great. If you read amazon reviews, they discussed their issue a while back with a few of the larger models. They are still much better than a normal glass heater imo.
Loved the 2 I had, when they worked. Luckily they both died in the off position and didn't fry my tank. I think the issue with them blowing up, was with the earlier models when they were first introduced. Anything is better then having a glass thermometer break in your tank.
