codium info needed

Anyone know more about codium? Its a marine plant/algae. A store has some, looks nice but cant find any info on it. Not going to buy something unless I know more about it.

codium is a slow growing plant. it is often seen in stores as a floating plant. i recommend buying it attached to rock. the floating type can block drains, filters, etc and can be very difficult to get it to attach to rocks. it is a neat plant, but if you are looking at it to export nutrients and cut back on hair algae, it won't do much for you. stick with chaeto or gracillaria.

There are several varieties of codium, and it is an interesting algae. I bought one and it didn't survive, but I have found that some types of algae do well for me, others do not, and you need to try samples to see what works in your tanks. I agree this is not a nutrient exporter, but I think interesting algaes are fun to have in the tank, and would suggest you try one and see what happens.
