Cold salt mix stored cold.

My mixing station is in the basement. It stays a cool 65.7. Is there any thought of keeping it cold or should it stay heated?

There should not be a problem with mixing salt in 65 degree water. Calcium Carbonate dissolves better in cold water. You will want to warm it a bit to check salinity. It does change with temp. Small water changes no prob. Big ones maybe an issue.

I mix in the same conditions as you and have never had a problem.
When I mix to 1.025 in the bucket at 65 degrees, then do a 10-15% WC, temp drops from 77.7 to 76.9 for a couple of hours, still comes out in the DT as 1.025, and that's measured both by refractometer and probe.

ATC baby..

I mix in the same fashion, and never heat my water unless I'm going to do a large water change.

My typical 10G change out of an 80G system only decreases temps by 1 or 2 points.

I make rodi water throw salt in and mix it. I usually let it sit for a week till the next water change. Don't heat it untill water change day. Ro system is hooked up to my washer cold water line so it's cold when i mix it.
