Collecting Rocks for Live Rock

I currently have a couple tanks set up with a fair amount of live rock, but I wanted to add more in my big tank. Live rock is so dang expensive. Does anyone know of some rocks that I could use, found in the wilderness, home made, or ?... I already have the live rock in the tank doing well, so I can just add any rock that isn't going to hurt my tank, what are those?

dry base rock would be fine and is cheaper, you could always make your own, garf.org has instructions but i've never done it.

I made mine per directions off garf.org. Turned out fantastic, no purchased liverock comes close to how porous this stuff is. <$1/lb too.

does anyone have the link for the garf site that describes the procedure? i would really prefer to go out and find some, so basically I can use anything i find? I live in oregon so there is quite a bit of vocanic rock?....
