Colt Coral question

My colt coral is getting huge. Probably close to a foot when its open all the way. Is it possible to trim it or frag it in some way? Thanks.

Cut it, slice it, rip it where ever you want. Do it ritght you could get some credit at your LFS. Take the cut offs and loosely tie them to some rubble for a week and they will attach.

Fragging them is easy, I use a razor knife for a clean cut, clean the blade of any oil that may be on it.
I recommend that you cut them outside of your display, & place the pieces in a bucket of tank water with a PH. They tend to slime a lot when you cut them, so the bucket is a good rinse for about a 1/2 hour or so. I rinse them again for a moment in another clean bucket of tank water, & then place them back in the display.

You can bury the frag base in some rubble, & it will bond to it in about 7 ~ 10 days. some people lightly tie them to LR. I have used monofilament & a sewing needle to literally sew them to the rock. After they attach, cut the line & pull it out, just like removing stitches, or cut it close & just leave it. A little flow helps them heal faster.

It's always good to run some carbon for a few day's, while they are healing & still sliming slightly.

Cutting them outside of the display, will avoid problems you may have with your other corals from the slime.

Real easy, tough to kill them, you can trim them in all sizes & shapes.
