About three years ago my wife bought me a Colt Coral for my b'day. It was a tiny little thing but over the years I watched it grow into a giant(by reefkeping standards). Lately I have had to cut away parts of the coral due to some unknown infection it has gotten. It seems to attack the coral and cause it to fall apart. I have cut off several limbs of it to hopefully allow the rest to survive. Today tho I noticed whateve it has gotten was all the way at the base . I had to cut away and scrape all but a couple small limbs.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this?
