Here is a picture of what I found from the difference in the sand. top is what I have and bottom is a sugar gain sized sand.
This is why I was wondering if I could use this sand for gobies.Sugar grain sand is blown around easily with powerheads...which usually makes the tank water look cloudy. Adding a layer of coarser sand on top helps resolve that problem...
...or you can just avoid using sugar grain in the first place.
Thanks. I was wanting a Watchman goby.Im using the same substrate you pictured from Petco & i have a immature Watchman goby that is only about 3" now & it has no issues at all sand sifting this larger stuff. That surprised me when i first saw it do this due to its size but they have a big mouth & large gills. Mine likes to eat baby brittle stars as a snack and larger pods.
And one of us is right..
