Compatability Question

I'm planning to order a sandbed activation package and additional snails from Indo-Pacific Sea Farms. My reef will eventually house some clams. This package includes "micro hermits" they are quite small. Are these OK with clams? Are there any clean-up critters that should be avoided when housing clams?

Thanks,

Craig

Certainly, any clean-up critter that has the potential to grow relatively large should be avoided. Emerald crabs are a good example. Most critters will not bother clams - but would you take a chance with your $100 maxima? The one critter that is the exception rather than the rule is who you should fear.

Micro hermits don't bother clams- these are the hermits that are 1/5 the size of say, a scarlet reef hermit.

Snails - any snails of unknown origin or questionable identification should be promptly removed.
