Hey everybody, after a series of very unfortunate events, I finally got around to start stocking my 75 gallon.. 20L sump with Skimz Sn 143, running carbon, and another GFO reactor ready to take online if needed, as well as a refugium that needs some chaeto..

1x Bangaii Cardinal (Pterapogon kauderni) (Already in tank)
1x Royal Gramma, (Gramma Loreto) (Next purchase, almost ready to graduate from QT)
1x Yellow Coris Wrasse, (Halichoeres chrysus)(In QT with Gramma)
2x Amphiprion ocellaris (Snowflake Clown)(paired)
1x Centropyge potteri (Potters Angelfish) Not too sure about this guy
1x Regal Angelfish (Pygoplites Diacanthus)(I know this tank is not viable for a fully fledged adult regal, however everywhere I have researched shows that they grow very slowly.. Some 10 year old specimens only growing 2 inches in that span.. Not worried about size with this guy, have a juvy red sea ready from among the reef)

That's it. Anyone see any problems? Potters is not a must, would be fine with removing it... Would like to add a H. Melanurus down the line if I could. Or a leopard next year after there are enough pods...

I think the list looks ok, but my concern are the angels they can be difficult. I believe they tend to be poor shippers and can be difficult to acclimate to foods. I don't know the typical growth rate of the Regal but I am sure you have researched it. I think I would go with just one of them.

FWIW I had a H. Melanurus for some time and he was a great fish. I now have a gray head ( H. leucurus) similar in coloration and activity. Good luck just my two cents.

Awesome thanks Tony!!
Will take off the potters then. What would you reccomend instead of the potters? Second guessing on the leopard.. Any other wrasse?

I always thought the leopards are one of fishes that should be left in the ocean. One of my favorite wrasse's I have now are the Temminicki wrasse. They can be a bit hard to find.

How expensive are they usually? Hardy?

I like the list. Some nice color and movement.

It seems the QT process is going better.

You can say that again. I think I was just changing too many things too fast. Oh well. And not recognizing diseases. I think I've gone through the big three. Flukes for the clown, velvet for the wrasse and BF, and ich for the wrasse..
The stocklist may change... One of my fish friends just pulled the trigger on a nice 700 gallon, and probably won't keep the livestock that comes with it.. I got first dibs :)

Nice to be able to pick through a tank like that. I'm jealous

Don't sell yourself short as hard as the previous QT's were you gained some valuable experience.

Oh man trust me I can't wait. He said he's going to run me hard and make me do basically everything. But it'll be worth it :) Free livestock!
How are those Angels?

The angels are doing great. They are on their 2nd tank transfer now with some prazi. They are eating everything I put into the tank. They kind of looked at the pellets at first then they realized Hey this is food:lol: They are not showing any signs of decompression problems. The LFS had them for about 6 weeks before I picked them up.

Awesome! Congrats!

Anyone else have any insight on the list?

The stock list looks good to me. You might still be able to add a few flasher wrasses to it. :D

Tony, glad to hear the new pair is doing well!

I'm still debating on if I will add another fish or two or not. I have a few fish that I am thinking about. Remember I've got a 40b

Current list
Pair Mocha Ocellaris (currently spawning  )
Cherub Angel
Royal Gramma
Yellow Candy Hog Fish
McCosker's Wrasse
Midas Blenny

No problem with any real aggression and my nitrates and phosphates are not a problem keeping down with my WC schedule

Current thinking about fish
Starcki Damsel
Yasha Goby (or any similar small sand dwelling goby)
Matted File fish (I got rid of the one that I had because he started eating Blastos) I'm thinking this because I've got a bunch of aiptasia popping up again since he's gone. He was such a cool fish but eating any good corals is a NONO :hammer: He never touched anything else only blastos.

I've also considered another flasher wrasse, just something totally different than my McCoskers.

Try a fairy wrasse?
I liked my solorensis a lot more than my mccoskers. Not too sure why... Don't think the mccoskers was ever comfortable enough. Which was fine.
I might add a flasher or another fairy down the line.. But the regal will be my baby :)

Thanks Dave. How is the back coming along? good I hope.

Another fish that may work for either of you if your not into shrimp or other small inverts is the long nose hawkfish. I love mine. Part of the fun is trying to find where he is perched at, especially if you got any gorgonians.

Back is coming along fine Tony, thanks for asking. Only a month out of surgery and have only been to one PT session but doing OK.

I've thought about a hawkfish since I have other fish that will eat shrimp too.

My biggest thing that is holding me back is that I don't QT anything and I've already pushed my luck. All fish are very fat and healthy, my one nemesis is Aiptasia :hammer: I really did like the matted file fish and if he hadn't started on my blastos he would still be in there.

Yeah that's always a gamble... I would be cautious ordering from LA, seems like they're having a velvet outbreak.. Shouldn't be a problem with a quick Formalin dip like I know you do, but...

Now lets get this thread back on track
Any suggestions? Or do you think I'm fully stocked with that list?
Feel free to help Dave out too :lmao:

I understand on pushing your luck. I just went on an aiptasia hunt a few days ago. I got some in the back, hard to get to. There is something strangely gratifying about watching one melt away.

I think you should get that list filled and in your tank for a while and happy. Then you can be picky of other fish you might want to add.

Kind of like in my tank I've got a lot of fish for a 40b but it doesn't look over crowded with the exception of feeding times :D they're like piranha's and moving so fast it look like there are many times the amount of fish actually in there :lmao:

So probably tomorrow I'll go on an aiptasia killing spree and get rid of some bubble algae too. LOL one of my snails has several bubble algae growing on his shell.

Tony I'll have a smile on my face watching them melt thinking of your post :D
