compatibility?

I'm just wondering. how do i know what types of corals are able to be neighboring? ive read stories about chemical wars and stuff like that if they're not compatible. how do i know if they are?

I generally make sure that none of my stuff touches. You can normally tell pretty quickly that a coral is not happy about what is touching it. I'm pretty sure LPS corals are more difficult due to their rather long feeder polyps that extend at night and sting what ever touches them.

Frogspawn, Hammer coral, and Torch coral all will sting the s*** out of your corals. I try to keep all my corals away from each other. The other day my frag of green montipora fell on to a couple of branches of my acropora and its polyps stung it pretty good. I keep every thing away from my frogspawn to... i have had to even move stuff around cause that stuff grows so fast. The frogspawn and hammer can touch each other cause they are from the same family.
