I can't decide between a flame and potters angel so I'd like to get both. Do you think they would be ok if introduced at the same time? Tank is 72 gallon mixed reef, lots of rock.

Thanks...

Should work provided the fish are added while small and at the same time.
Just be prepared to remove one, if they are too aggressive.

I kept a Flame and Potter's in an Elos 70 (55 gallons) without any issues.
It can be done, but I do not recommend this for beginners.

Agreed with Michael.

QT them seperately in order to fatten them up, get the readily accpeting foods and prepare for "battle", if you will. Of course, this will allow you to treat for anything if necessray as well.

If you do attempt this, I would suggest getting the Potter's first, and making sure that it is adjusted and eating prepared foods before adding the flame. IME with Potter's they are fairly shy at first and changes can cause a hunger strike.

I currently have a Potter's and a Multicolored in my 58. The Potter's was in the tank first and is smaller. I put the multicolored in a little breeder's box for the first 24 hours, so the potter's could get used to it. Once released there was some minor chasing, but nothing major, from the Potter's. Heck, my mated pink skunk clown pair caused more issues.

They have been together now for about 3 months and don't seem to care one way or the other about each other. Even at feeding time there isn't any issues.

Thanks...

Is this the general rule for all dwarf angels or just these two in particular. Would I have better luck with a flame and another type?

I have a flame and coral beauty in my 5 ft 100 gallon with lots of rock work. They do there own thing and I see no aggression. I added the flame first and added the coral the day after.

I will be adding a pair of Hawaiian Flames to my NWHI Biotope.
IMO the best way to go about this is to add two small juveniles and let them work out the specifics. Or you can purchase a male and female and hope they will pair off, or at least accept eachother.

Males have much more blue in the fins than the females.

Also, don't the males have "pointed" end fins and the females have "rounded" ones? (( or the other way around )).
