Hi,

I'm using component 1+2+3 since 4 months... but in the last two weeks the dKh decrease 0,5 per week.

In the mean time Ca and Mg they have always the same values. How to approach this situation ? I increase the ml's of the 3 components or every week I add the Buffer ?

Tks

If it was me I would add baking soda to your alk container...I do in order to keep my alk where I want it. I bake the baking soda first to help keep my ph up.

How much Component 1+2+3+ are you dosing now?
What is your paremeters ?

Sometimes when aquarium is not stable yet - for start KH is decrase faster than other elements.
It's good to dose Component 1+2+3+ in equal dose and add KH ( KH Buffer solution) separately.

Ok... also if my aquarium started one years ago?

Tks

Different system behaves differently. I know some people who were having a trouble keeping the Alk stable by using component 123 as the Alk was depleting sooner. So they started dosing more of component 2 and stabilised it. But in that case the problem is you will dose more of other elements along with Alk as the component is a full balling product. So, I think its wise to add the components in equal amount and replenish the deficiency by adding KH buffer as suggested above.

will it be an issue to increase the KH buffer mixing quantity in Com 2?
And can I substitue KH buffer with baking soda in com 2?
Thanks in advance.

you should just make some extra KH buffer solution to bring up the KH.
component 2+ = sodium bicarbonate + component C strong. as long as you add component c strong to the solution, i dont see any issue.
here's the math if you havent done it.
1G BRS sodium bicarbonate = 6.4G of solution, 50ml = 1.3 dkh for 27g of water, $20 = $3.13/G
1.2kg AF KH buffer = 3.94G of solution, 50 ml = 1.3 dhk for 27g of water, $12 =$3.04/G.
please tell me why you want to use anything else other than AF KH Buffer?(Beside if you have ton of sodium bicarbonate already)
