Conditions for proper zoa growth?

I am interested in learning how to make my zoa grow. Do they prefer being fed directly, or through photosynthesis? What parameters are most conducive to zoa growth.? If anyone could answer these questions or send me a link I'd appreciate the advice

I would say trial and error....

Some polyps do best in high light/low light

Some do best with higher nutrients, some not

Some are hapiest in high flow some low

I usually start acclimating them on the bottom of my tank, or even shadded, depending on color.

After some time for acclimations, I raise them up periodicaly till they dont look happy, thats when I lower them a bit.

Once I find the place they look best, I let them grow till fraggable.

Once fragged, I put 2 fraggs in different locations, and watch....their looks as well as growth.

I also watch my nutrients, and which gets more flow/food, and take that into consideration.

Your polyps will tell you where they are happiest and will grow fastest, just watch them. Time will tell.

If you can find out where they were wild collected, or even the parameters and lighting they were previously kept in, it will give you a heads start on figuring it out.

IME zoanthids do well in the same conditions that certain sps, LPS etc do. I've had some issues with Rastas, Gold Mauls, the hornets etc, but I don't think my conditions had anything to do with it, being that the other ones I had were thriving. Just the luck of the draw sometimes. GL.
