They are both Cndaria (sp?) and can therefore sting each other. Frankly, I try not to let any of mine touch, but it is a battle and not really worth it, IMO... Condy anemones like to travel in a tank and are not recommended to be kept with alot of reef guys... I'm not an expert, but if you look on www.wetwebmedia.com at the Condy FAQs it should help you out immensely.
I have two condys and have to constantly fight to keep them in one place. (They belong to my husband, or I would deep six them myself) Placing them in a area of high flow is the best way to keep them from migrating around the tank and stinging other stuff. For example, I hold mine up to the glass under the flow of my biowheel and it will stick there with its tentacles in the current, and won't move. I then target feed them. Keeps em in one place pretty well, imo.
I probably would try to keep them as far from each other as possible, but you should also re-think a condy in the nanocube anyway, cause it doesnt provide enough light. JMO...
It seems to have enough light, but not enough room. I'll probably end up trading it anyways. Do you guys have any tips for moving them? It doesn't want to let go of the rock and I don't know how to do it with out damaging it's foot.
Sure! They are simple to move, depending where his foot is. I take one of my fingernails and pry up one of the edges of his foot. Then when you can get the tip of your finger under him you can just pop him right off his perch. If you have a girlfriend with long fingernails get her to do it, because it's much easier for us than stubby fingernailed menfolk, in my experience.
I had one I couldn't get at the foot one time, and I picked the rock he was on up out of the water with the condy tentacles towrd the water. He freaked out and dropped off after about 2 min. You have to be quick as crap to catch him though because if he falls on something in the tank like a gorgonian he can really hurt it.
