The Connecticut Area Reef Society Presnts our 2009 Marine Aquarium Conferencehttp://www.ctars.org/default.aspx?uc=conferencehttp://www.ctars.org/default.aspx?uc=conference. We have Steven Pro, Christine Williams and an afternoon with Anthony Calfo at The Mohegan Sun Casino on Sunday April 19, 2009.

We will have some great vendors there like Reef Nutrition, Seachem, Reeflo Pumps and Ice Cap. We will top it off with our Great Coral Auction and dry goods raffle.

We hope to see you there and don't forget to bring your used metal halide bulbs as we are collecting them to be recycled.

how many people end up attending at something like this never been and intrested in what the meetings are about...I know guest speakers and lunch but is it just to get together and share info an shoot the breeze more or less????

Kel, this is like a mini-MACNA event. You will learn all kinds of stuff you didn't know, and clear up a number of things you wished you'd known long ago. The speakers are excellent, using powerpoint to illustrate their discussions, and afterwards they usually have time for Q&A. Plus you can talk to them later when you run into them checking out any vendors, or during lunch.

It isn't about shooting the breeze like you would in a fish store. And I guarantee you will have a great time. You know how you might spend $40 for a new coral (or frag) from your fish store? Instead, don't buy a frag - buy an education that will help you and your entire reef.

Thanks Mark. We are expecting 200 - 225 ppl.

Steven Pro is talking about coral toxins.
Randy Reed is talking about feeding your reef (oyster eggs, pods, etc).
Anthony Calfo is talking about raising corals.

You only have until Sunday April 12 to buy your tickets. After that, you will only be able to get general admission tickets at the door for a bit more - $20.
