Connecting overflow tube help

Hey guys. Does this look right? How should I connect the hose to the overflow box. Should I get one of hose metal ring clamps that I tighten with a screw driver to put around it or should I glue/silicone it? Any help would be appreciated!

It needs to be clamped in some fashion or you risk a flood
Since it is out of water, a metal clamp will be fine, but you could also use the nylon ones.

The hose at least looks like a slip fit and I am willing to bet it is not a tight fit. I would not attempt a clamp direct to the bulkhead. You will either crack the hose or it won't seal right.

Is the inside of that bulkhead a slip fit or a screw-in?

Honestly, I would hard pipe that. That hose will be noisy when the water starts moving down it, not to mention the bubbles that will be created as it flows over all those ridges.

change that to a Black Vinyl tubing and Use a Plastic clamp or as other said Be Careful tightening it up as to not break the bulkhead... those corrugated hose tumbles the water around creating turbulence and Air bubbles. not to mention all the places for detritus to get trapped .

I currently have the same one running. I did not have problems with the tube leaking, but with the bulkhead itself. I disassembled it and wrapped some plumbing tape around it multiple times and it sealed right up. In terms of noise, that tube will be fine as long as it is not straight down. Mine has a 90 degree bend to it and it is nearly silent.

That hose is fine, but change it if you want to. The inside of the hose is round and smooth - the ridges on the outside are for flexibility. Detritus won't get trapped inside the hose, and since it's smooth, it's only as noisy as any other hose.

OH YEAH! And also:

That white piece of PVC at the end of the hose going into the sump...That doesn't go there. That piece of PVC inserts into the bottom of the bulkhead going into the clear box. Then the filter sponge slips over that PVC inside the clear box, and the slip hose fits snuggly around the bottom portion of PVC sticking out of the bottom of the bulkhead.

Use electrical ties on that grey water pipe is it, if so that’s cool, I use them as well and the ridges add oxygen to that water and helps with gas exchange, to a degree, plus if you put in sever bends, it helps to silence the water.

Use a steel hose clamp. It's external anyway. Take a piece of scotch brite pad and scuff up the outside of the bulkhead pipe so it isn't so smooth and slippery. It will hold just fine.

And yes, if the hose is smooth on the inside, you are fine using it. I use the same kind (flex tubing for pool pumps) from a pool supply store. It's totally silent.
